True Stages in Your Community
True Stages had the honor of offering free career workshops to the high school students of Newark Collegiate Academy (NCA) in Newark, NJ. Professional actress & True Stages member, Youmie Jean Francois, enjoyed speaking to the youth about what it takes to be successful as a professional actor and answering the questions they had about making it in the business. Professional dancer & True Stages member, Matia Johnson, taught an additional workshop on how to make it as a professional dancer. In addition to providing information, leading activities, & answering questions, keeping with the True Stages belief in making authentic connections, Youmie & Matia enjoyed sharing their personal stories and words of encouragement with the youth.

Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts (November 2012)
In October of 2012, New York was hit hard by the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. Homes were flooded and torn apart, trains were shut down, lives were lost, emotions were high, & many people were in need of shelter, food, encouragement, and various forms of assistance. True Stages was grateful to be able to donate food & supplies and volunteer at relief shelters in NYC- checking people in, setting up cots, and distributing food, clothes, diapers, blankets, etc. As they say, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." This was truly a blessing!
Performance Outreach Project (July-September 2014)
In the summer of 2014, True Stages began a form of street ministry called performance outreach, in which dancers went out into the streets and subway stations and ministered to people through liturgical dance (also known as praise dance). In addition to having praise dance performances at these outreach events, True Stages members gave away free candy and bottles of water to people who were walking by or who stopped to watch the performances. True Stages also prayed with people who had prayer requests and wanted to receive prayer. Many people were blessed and inspired by this outpouring of love and kindness as True Stages "brought church to the people," meeting spiritual, emotional and practical needs.
